You're never more than 15 minutes away from exceptional hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, biking and horseback riding the Zumbro and Whitewater River Valleys when you visit or live in Plainview!

While this small town sits on the high ground between both valleys, the Dorer Memorial Hardwood Forest is just three short miles away in both directions.  Carley State Park to the south has limestone bluffs, meadows and trout streams.  It's one of the premier spots to see wildflowers in the spring! Three miles to the north, the prairie falls away and County 4 runs through a wide section of the Zumbro River Valley to Theilman and the south entrance to the Zumbro Bottoms Management Unit.

Not an outdoors person?  Then visit Plainview's quaint one-of-a-kind shops, attend a play at the Jon Hassler Theater, or enjoy a meal at one of four restaurants!
